Timeline

Autobiography

 1978
Hotel California was the record of the year, Sony introduced the first walkman and Space Invaders was developed by Taito in Japan. It was late January, the moon was in the seventh house and Jupiter aligned with Mars, Fantasy Island was scheduled to premiere, Ted Nugent autographed a fans arm with a knife, and the first test tube baby was born in Britain….no not me, I had a natural birth that day in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

 1979-1992
A bunch of unusual stuff I’ll later embellish in a pricy autobiography.

 1993-1996
I attended Elk Grove High School and got involved in performing via speech team, choir, swing choir, musicals, variety shows, and drama.
 1996-2000
I attended Illinois State University to hone in on my craft of singing, dancing, acting, and writing.

 2000-2004

Upon graduation, a favor was due to me from a gent named Bill Osetek, who had an actor bail out on his MFA directing project and asked me to take over at a moments notice (a trend that would continue in my professional career). He promised to introduce me to as many people as he could in Chicago. He invited me to the press night of 1776 at the Drury Lane theatre in Oakbrook, IL where he fulfilled his promise. On that night I met two gentlemen, Marc Robin and Michael Weber, who gave me my first paying acting job in Gigi at Theatre at the Center in Munster, IN. Working with Marc brought on an opportunity to work on a show he was involved with at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. I understudied four roles in The Ballad of Little Jo. I also met the artistic director of Drury Lane, Ray Frewen, that night. He later cast me in my breakthrough role of Kenickie in Grease.

In my four years in Chicago I worked quite steadily at the Drury Lane as an actor in adult and children’s shows, a carpenter, a stagehand, a spotlight operator and a receptionist, but most often as a clutch situation understudy. Being a quick study landed me permanent roles in My Fair Lady, Lucky Stiff, and an amazing three day stint as Che in Evita.

I did, however, branch out from my “theatre home” to experience more. I found myself doing outdoor Shakespeare for a summer in The Taming of the Shrew. I played Rudy in the Chicago premiere of King O The Moon at the Mercury Theatre. I also teamed up with Marc Robin, once again, to host a national tour of The Sing A Long Wizard of Oz.

One of my greatest honors was working for and with Jeff Daniels on the World Premiere of his play, Across the Way, directed by the amazing Guy Sanville at the Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea, MI. They encouraged me to leave Chicago and get out to New York. They planted the seed that would come to fruition two years later.

 May 2004
After having successful auditions for some of New York’s casting directors and talent agents I finally got the courage to migrate to unknown territories. Two weeks after moving into my apartment and selling my car, I landed an agent and the role of Jimmy in the National Tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Wow!.

 July 2005
I started working on the set of The Good Shepherd which was directed by Robert DeNiro and starred Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and William Hurt. Don't get too impressed though, I'm a featured extra that has a serious smoking problem. In every scene (except the library) I'm smoking a cigar, pipe or cigarette. Next stop, Hollywood.

September 2005
I sat in a church for about 16 hours on the set of Book of Daniel for a few days as a member of said congregation. It made me very thirsty.

October 31, 2005
I did a reading of a play titled Wingman for some investors in the hopes that it will find it's way Off-Broadway and, most importantly, takes us with it.

November/December 2005
I finally have an actual, factual rehearsal for a show in New York City! WOO HOO! The show is A Christmas Carol for Personal Space Theatrics and will be performed in Manahattan at The Barrow Group Theatre in December.

February 13, 2006
I do reading number two of Wingman at the Irish Rep. in New York.

March-May 2006
I play third pirate from the left in Pirates of Penzance at the Drury Lane. I understudy the constable. Interesting side note: it is almost ten years to the date that I last did "pirates" in high school.

August, 2006
I finally feel like a New York actor and work on an episode of Law and Order.

September 1, 2006
I play the leading role in a reading of a new musical for North Shore Theatre called "The Navigator". I play Nathaniel Bowditch.

December 6th, 2006
I shoot my first commercial in New York for Optimum Homes/Cablevison. Oh, yeah. It stars me and my "mother" (who looks nothing at all like my mother). Look for it on super late night cable. The shoot went so well, in fact, that the director hired me for another job before we wrapped for the day!

January 4th, 2007
I return to the studio mentioned in the previous entry to shoot an industrial film for Techo-Bloc Paving stones. Thank god for teleprompters. Don't look for this one at your local theatres or even in the discount video bin, it's just being used at tradeshows.

January 29th, 2007
I make my Off-Broadway debut in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" at the Westside Theatre in New York City. Just one day after my 29th birthday. What a wonderful gift. I join the show on it's 4,367th performance.

October 14th, 2007
I finsih my stint in ILYYPNC Off broadway and join the Las Vegas Company of Jersey Boys in the role of Tommy DeVito.

November 20th, 2007
I have my first performance of Jersey Boys at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.

March 18th, 2008
I have my first performance of Jersey Boys in Chicago.

FUTURE
I become a solid gold cowboy.
